Aitken attacks “Pathetic” pic’n’mix posturing of Glasgow socialist MSP

Commenting after Rosie Kane was released from jail today, Scottish Conservative Chief Whip and Glasgow MSP Bill Aitken MSP said:

“Rosie Kane’s sojourn in Cornton Vale was not only unnecessary but it was expensive as well. Between court time and prison costs, Miss Kane will have cost the Scottish taxpayer thousands.

“This pathetic political posturing must stop. Fines must be deducted from her salary and not left for the taxpayer to foot the bill. Scotland’s police and our criminal justice system are fighting the rising tide of violent crime, working round the clock to catch and prosecute murderers and rapists.

“The ego-tripping antics of Rosie Kane not only waste valuable time and resources, but are an affront to all honest citizens and an abuse of our police and courts.

“We should not have a pic’n’mix justice system. The purpose of prison is to detain people at Her Majesty’s pleasure, not their own.”
